you can buy silver eagles, maple leafs, philharmonic from local dealers like world treasures in megamall/north edsa or from JC coins in greenhills. These of course are subject to availability because there are a lot of people locally who collect them. Also, expect to pay a pretty steep premium which ranges from $5-$10 (Php 200 - Php 500) per coin depending on type and condition. You can also buy some in ebay.ph auctions but they are pretty rare as well these days.

i've ordered silver coins from the US and have had them ship the items here.

Basically if you're buying $500 worth of bullion, customs will charge you 10% duty and 12% VAT including the Import processing fee which would amount to Php 250.00. At an exchange rate of Php 43/$1 you would pay roughly Php 4,980.00

thanks for the info on this one, sir. i don't mind paying the premium to the local dealers kung meron naman pala dito sa atin. i tried inquring at apmex, and the minimum order for international order is $1,500.

i think there are 2 if i'm not mistaken, the $100 1oz Silver Union NGC-Proof and the other one 1906 1-oz Slvr Barber Dbl Eagle Pattern NGC-Gem PR. it comes in various sizes like 1 troy oz at $99 and 5 oz at $499. you can order one at new york mint or govmint.com but they only accept order from us,canada, australia, s.africa, switzerland n uk.

never buy anything from these two companies. it's a privately owned company. usually with heavy advertisement. their coins are very expensive. and if you sell those coins back. it's hard to sell them. cause 99% of u.s. collectors doesn't want them. and it's only a bullion value. these coins always bought by new comers and non collectors. you buy at a high price and sell always at bullion value or even below bullion value.

to buy any modern coins or i should say they are medals. try brand names produced by privately owned companies. engelhard, sunshine mining, prospectus or discontinued franklin mint and liberty mint. when you sell back. still these coins is only worth a little over silver spot.

my suggestion is that just buy american eagle, canadian maple leaf, chinese panda, australian perth mint bullion products, british britannia, mexican libertad, and austrian philharmonic.

300php??? Sa peso-dollar exchange rate ko lang binase. Pag dinala mo sa coin dealer yan ay mas mababa pa sa peso-dollar exchange rate ang buying nila.

the u.s. mint is currently selling 2011 uncirculated set at $31.95 plus $4.95 shipping charge. or 1,600.00 peso. the set is composed of Philadelphia set (P mint mark) or sometimes without mint mark. and Denver set (D mint mark). total two sets. this set come with complete box and certificate of authenticity. missing any would become face value. the face value is only $13.82. and since it is only face value. you can just use it anyway or keep it for souvenir.

by looking at your picture. it is only a set. and without box. that will cost only a face value or $6.91. or more or less 300 peso.

i would recommend not to buy this type of set. after few more years. this set will come down from $31.95 to near face value or face value. unless this year 2011 is the rarest as far as the mintage is concern.

if this year 2011 set is the rarest or lowest mintage. then the price could jump up two to three x the original cost of $31.95. then it could reach as high as $100.00 more or less.
