PostSubject: My Father's Collection   Fri Feb 27, 2009 3:36 pm

I recently acquired my father's coin collection and really do not know their values. I have scanned samples and maybe you can help.

This is a 1966 Isabella 4 Peso Coin - Gold 22K

This is a 1905 Silver Peso Coin

The Isabella 1866 4P is not 22K but 21K only. It contained 87.5% gold.
The USPI 1905-S peso is damaged by Chinese chopmarked and its been harshly cleaned. That means the value decreases dramatically to a little more than the silver bullion price. The most you could sell on ebay is about $20.00 if someone bids.
Back to your 1866 Spanish Phil. Isabella 4P, check the coin's edges if there's any solder marks or damage. If there's no damage, it could be worth a nice premium. Are you planning to sell the coin?

Thanks for the input embosed. I checked the 1866 Isabela 4P coin's edges and they're undamaged. I have decided to keep it for now as I know my father wanted me to. He's kept a nice collection of those 1800's Spanish-Phil gold coins and some USPI silver coins.

Thank you for replying to my query. I really appreciate it.

Please post more picture of your fathers collection. I love the Spanish Philippine collection.
