| Don't know if it is already available at Krause but BSP has very limited information about it. |

| Hi! should the 1 centavo coin still be called circulated? I don't find it anywhere, not even in banks. For the years prior, I could go to a bank and exchange pesos for the 1centavo coins. Now it's quite difficult to get current 1centavo coins, it's actually the same size as the 5centavos without the hole! there's more metal there! rated as rare circulation? |

| Recently, there was a mint set offered which included a 2009 One centavo. The seller described it as an unofficial issue though it bears the seal of the BSP including a medal which commemorates its 60th anniversary. The one centavo denomination is getting scarce these days and is very collectible. Never seen a 2008 nor 2007 One centavo in the past 2 years. FN |

| I did talked to the teller in the past.
Its mostly left in there drawer and they have to order it to the BSP if they want it,but not often used in circulation they seldom do it.
Nice to know someone who work in the bank and a cashier.
If others will drop it in donation box like what happen in SM.
Seen some charity organization located just across a coin shop, nice to sort all those donations coins it will be handy and another job for PNAS,PNAS should cooperate with all donation asso. just incase other can sort them above thier face value, just a comment.
It is also handy to know the mintage incase they, the BSP will melt all current circulating coins for transition of coins just weigh them for future ref. or records.
Seen mints that are promoting there coins in the web others are sending email. http://www.bsp.gov.ph/ Hope someone can contact the BSP for the mintage its not listed in Krause.
Unlike others mint they do release a publication from proof to business strike or coins to be used in circulation. |

| Many Filipinos are not aware that the intrinsic value of our coins are more than its face value. In fact, many nations around the globe especially in Africa have suffered hyper inflation because of excessive reliance to paper money. Small denomination coins are puny and seem to be useless but somehow these humble coins are the one that saved us from experiencing past monetary crisis. FN |

They dont have it,even they will ask for it at CPB,its not given to them.
That is trouble the CBP should published the mintage, even it is not use often, just a comment.

| Josie, If you'll just analyze the production cost between 1 centavo and 1000 pesos. It is more expensive to produce 1 centavo than print 1000 pesos. That's why the monetary system is moving away from coins and more into paper and plastic. However, it is very hard to regulate paper currency than metal coins because metals especially precious metals are terrific hedges against inflation. So even if the face value of the coin is 1 centavo, its intrinsic value is P.25 based on the current trading of copper. While a P1000 paper cannot maintain its current face value because it does't have any safety nets against the backlash of inflation since it is just a piece of paper. coolacoin |

| Thanks coolacoin for the info.
Hope the CBP adopt.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_6102
Include silver all precious metal.
CBP should buy all gold coins and jeweries 30 percent less than the market value also silver and melt them compete to all pawnshop.
Draft a bill all will sell precious metal exluding used in idustries to tax them 50 percent all jeweries and alike.
Well hope all coins of the Philippines have silver in it and lower the notes.
Does this will increase the value of Phillipines Peso?
With all gold in the Philippines all in pawnshop and jewerly will be melted and store in CBP or pay our national debt.
Other countries have national debt but thier currency will not be devalued I think.
Unlike third world countries thier currency devalue I think.
Maybe other can gauge it today when all the develope nation have a problem in global recession since last year.
And besides there is a article.
