| I have a few P20 peso bills with a "2008 A" date on it. Why is there an "A"? what's the reason for that designation?
Also, where can i buy those plastic sleeves for paper bills? not the US type but just the cheap local version. |

I have 3 left i spent the others already.
Im sure those at world treasures would be expensive. Are there alternatives? Perhaps those plastic sleeves not really intended to hold paper notes?

| Dic, you can get cheap banknote plastics in Divisoria. If you dont want the hassle of going there and look for a parking space, you may try going to Greenhills where a good friend has a store of coins and banknotes. He has it (much cheaper than world treasures). Coins sleeves are also available. His location is at the second floor where other antique stores located (lifestyle center as they call it yata). |

If it is A there is no place in the Philippines that print notes.
If it is a name of a contract company I dont know. |

| Its common and based in my own research, the error occurred on 20 peso notes with "X" prefixes. A friend of mine got a bundle from the bank. Still, the Bangko Sentral cannot give a detail on how much of these notes were released into circulation. |

thanks for the tip. well if it's an error then shouldn't it be destroyed if it gets back to the bsp? it shouldn't be common for too long in that case. I can't believe they made such a big oversight. someone wasn't doing his/her job properly. i could understand the arrovo error but 2008 A was so glaringly obvious.

| Additional info:
The 2008 A started with prefixes V up to Y. Just encountered so much in circulation lately. This is a common note accidentally released by the BSP. So far BSP has never been alerted regarding this matter.
