the price is pretty subjective due to the condition of the coin you are looking for.

Melt value of the 1903 - 1905 1 peso coins based on silver price of $40/oz and USD/Php rate of Php 43/$1 gives us a value of Php 1,341.60. if you were to buy the "pang tunaw" coins you would probably be able to buy these for around Php 1500 per piece. Higher grades of course are more expensive, and the best site to guage the current prices of these coins against specific grades would be ebay.ph

As for coin shops in manila, yes there are quite a bit of people selling in the manila area. Some are Rey de Jesus, Tony Teh and Mang Totoy.

I'm looking to buy these coins for investment purposes. I have been buying maple leafs, ASE, and 90% silver coins. With regards to the coins condition or grade, I don't mind if it's "pang tunaw" or junk silver but if I can get it in a good condition then that's better. Plus, I still don't have any USPI coins and I would love to add some to my pile.

Prices are reasonable and within what was earlier quoted by members, ie; Ps 1,500 +.

if you are after "pang tunay", try Mang Totoy or Mang Rey first... Mang Tony sells coins that are in very good condition, that's why quite expensive and not considered for melting...
