| Hi Guys,
I just want to get your opinion.
How collectible is the Un Peso 1897?
And what do you guys think is the fair market value. I asked this because I see generally on ebay.ph, starting bid from Ps 1800 to as high of 3,200. And bidding ends at about Ps 2800 to 3000.
Is this the fair market value ?
Thanks and a great weekend to all! |

| which 1897 un peso are you referring to? mexico or spain/philippines?
anyways, in terms of collectibility, nasa sayo na yun, if you find it beautiful then go ahead, our hobby is built on that, LOVE and PASSION, ika nga beauty is in the eye of the beholder so don't let others dictate what to collect
in terms of price naman, for the spain/philippines un peso or KM#154 price of 2000-2500 is just about right, depende sa condition, otherwise pag XF sya then warranted yung 3200
and if you're referring naman to the mexico 1897 un peso, medyo mahal sya generally around 1500-2000 ang running price nun
hopefully this helps, if you can provide a picture we can discuss it further based on grading
have a nice day |

| Ghiem, Thanks for sharing your example of the Alfonso XIII, to me it's one of the most beautiful coins. MarketMarket, Yes, prices shown above are in US$. As he stated, it is within the current value. However, I've noticed in the past few months that it has gone up a bit, recently an EF went for about Ps 3,500 in eBay Phils., wherein it used to be circa Ps 2,300-2,500. I was also informed, that though its mintage was 6Mil, a lot has been melted down, so it is not a good indicator of availability. Have a good weekend! |
