I went by the auction last sunday (july 24 at tropical hut) but unfortunately i can not stay long enough because i have to accompany my wife to the hospital.. anyway, i want some of those coins offered.. can anybody post the results of the auction here (kahit sa commemoratives lang po).. thanks..

al mahirap matandaan. though i remember a person at the front beside me bidding like crazy over philippine coins. balita ko sa kakilala kong mga dealer ireresell din yung mga coins sa ebay.

basta ako importante i got my additional isabella gold coin. though sana next time may magbenta ng bullion na gold dahil mas rare dito nagbebenta ng ganun eh.

Ok thanks.. I went to the auction on sunday but have to leave early as there was a schedule for my wife at the hospital.. I recorded a "mail bid" for five coins and was informed this morning that i won only one piece.. napansin ko na mahal ang mga gold coins sa mga auctions dito, kaya lang mas mura kung mababasa mo ang mga offer sa "sulit", "ayos dito", atbp.... it is also available in USA, and cheaper most of the time.. congratulations to all winners .

filthings and santiczar was at the auction last sunday. I know filthings won a few items because i saw his new ebay listing contained a couple of items that were auctioned off last sunday.

- auction siya kasi bro. if you want them cheap you dont buy them sa auctions, puntahan mo sa shops. remember kapag auction nakafocus na din sila on paying the rent for the place, the food for the consignors/dealers, etc. madami gastos na dapat mabayaran

though ang advantage ng auction is that they sell some prized possession coins na hindi basta-basta ibinebenta sa shop nila. that is why during auctions dapat loaded ka. so kung ikaw ay masyadong focus sa "rare" coins, then auction is the way for you. or kung ikaw ay focused sa getting "excess supply" ng dealers, meron din sa auction nilalagay na ganung items like murang morgan or peace dollars.

may dealers din dun nagbebenta din dun ng excess supply without bidding before the auction. may tables sila for those for 4 hours time. i got a 1905-P for a slight discount. grabe dinala ng isang dealer, naglibot ata sa probinsya puno yung plastic. kung may dala lang ako maraming datung nun papakyawin ko din kahit tig-10 or 20 kukunin ko



now if you really would stay away from auctions, again, puntahan mo na lang sa shop. there would be some price difference. honestly i did not bid on the 2P and 1P gold coins anymore kasi i got them cheaper by going to their shops directly instead of sa auction.

late na ata dumating si santiczar? didn't see him when i was there before the auction started. nakita ko lang name nya sa logbook ng bidders yesterday nung dumaan ako sa bnsp office

I went to the new BNSP office this morning but the rains made it hard and very difficult because of the rains around metro manila (floods and traffic). I arrived at 12 noon, but ms.carmen was out so i had my lunch and then drop by the church. I went back at the office and paid for Item 128 (mail bid), then looked at the unsold coins. I decided to buy the 3-coin commemorative set (bonifacio, rizal, mabini). and we exchange some info.. next auctions (august 20, 21 and 28).. good luck..

i think that's a nice buy. the 3 coin commemorative set (@ 4500) is near the metal value of the coins

central bank of the philippines first initial offer cost 3.00 peso each. still that silver coin is costing too much. 200% over face value. and about 300% over melt value. between 1961 to 1964. i am in elementary to high school student. well. that is too much. jeepney cost ten centavos a ride. coke also ten centavos. my school allowance is only 25 centavos a day. how can i buy that silver coin.

when i can afford to buy was the 25th anniversary of the central bank of the philippines. that is 1974 25 peso silver coin. i bought 19 pc. the limit is 10 pc at face value (25 peso each). a guy stand at my front. bought me 9 pc. he himself got one. few years later. i sold all of them. cause it is only 50% silver. later this coin was stated at 90% silver. i think the right answer is 50% silver.

the BSP 25th anniversary (1974 25 peso coin) weighs in at 26.4g with a 38mm diameter. the 1975 25 peso coin on the other hand weight in at 25g also with a 38mm diameter. given their similar sizes and since no one disputes that the 1975 25 peso coin is 50% silver, one would naturally assume that the krause catalog is correct when they indicated that the 1974 25 peso coin is 90% silver.
