PostSubject: Coin Holders and Albums   Wed Jul 06, 2011 3:37 pm

I have several coin holders which are purchased locally, together with several coin albums but since it has no product label, I do not know if it is the PVC plastic type or not. I have been getting several questions regarding this and I am not sure if a plastic is PVC or not unless it is specified on the labels. Does anybody knows where we can buy coin holders and coin albums which are not with PVC plastic materials? Thanks a lot for any info. A friend says that it is readily available on the Internet but only costlier since you will have to pay for mailing and taxes.

I am also looking for a pvc-free coin album. Because mine were also the NBS type and some of my coins already have pvc contamination.

Found this on Ebay
100 Coin Album 20 Pocket Pages BCW Brand New PVC Free Please wait Image not available 100 Coin Album 20 Pocket Pages BCW Brand New PVC Free

Very good deal but shipping it here gonna cost us at a minimum of $33.00, 3 times the amount of the album..

Can you described all the details re "100-Coin" Album.. if we can buy it in the USA, I got many relatives out there and they can bring it back for me at no cost for mailing as long as it is not bulky and only a few pieces... thanks.

i think the $33 shipping charge is the one with the online tracking. there is actually a cheaper option available but of course more risky. From what i've experienced, the best thing to do when ordering overseas is to order in bulk. typically their limit is 2kgs, so you would want your goods to be at or near that weight to maximize the shipping charges. Also if you are given a choice between the more expensive (with tracking) or cheaper shipping method (without tracking), go for the more expensive method so you know exactly where the item is.

Another friend told me that there are available coin albums which are PVC-free in Australia, but I do not know anybody out there. If anyone has a way of bringing the item (PVC free Coin Albums) from Australia, please count me in as I want to have it. Thanks.

I'm interested too. How about if we ask everybody here in the forum who are also interested in this album. Order as one and divided the shipping cost between those who will order? Just one addressee here in the Philippines.

Somebody again told me that we should try looking for items in Singapore as there is an annual coin event there for Asian coin collectors. I am not sure if this is true. My friends there seems not to be aware of it. You really need to be a collector to be in the know, but hope somebody out there can go and look.
