always use paypal when dealing with people from the internet. If you didn't get the item within 45 days of payment, paypal will allow you to file a dispute and based on your correspondence with the seller (within 7 days of filing a dispute), you can elevate the dispute into a claim. Paypal will review the correspondence and will judge accordingly. Typically if you don't get the item, they will refund your money.

im not sure on this but i think the paypal dispute resolution can only be availed of in ebay transactions. ebay owns paypal. if it's just an ordinary paypal transaction, i dont think theres any remedy. what you can do is the two of you should simulate an ebay auction with paypal as a mode of payment.

I would classify this transaction as "high risk" you dont know the person and there are no guarantees that he will ship the items once payment is received nor are there refund mechanisms in case the items are not genuine. this transaction will go through purely on the basis of trust.

For me it aint worth it. If it's not thru ebay and paypal id have to do meet ups. if thats not possible then theres no deal.

Thanks, the majority suggestions received discourages the unreliable system of buying without meeting the seller or without even seeing the actual items first as I already experienced this bad thing (the pictures posted were beautiful but the actual coins are not so appealing).
