| it depends on its signatories (for the P50 and below) but for the common signatures you can still get them in CU condition for its face value. Except the P500 which you can get in its face value but in a lesser condition than CU. |

| I just bough an "uncirculated" (I think) P200 English Series earlier at face value. Location: Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (East Avenue Quezon City).

| ^geez. that is seriously sad cuz english notes are being sold at 200php (at least) at coin shops here in manila (for the lower denomination notes). the only place where you can buy these notes at face value is at BSP and now happy days are almost over. damn. i bet whoever bought all the 20 peso notes would resell them for at least a hundred a pop. good business really but bad for noobs like me. :( |

My inside info mentioned that the 200php English series are also dwindling in numbers. I just bought 2, one for my album and one extra on another plastic case. I saw 200php English series being sold at shops at around 400-500php. I suggest newbies like me buy at least 1 from BSP (while supplies last).

Agree. When we started on this hobby over 20 years ago, we had the support of some of the oldtimers in the PNAS/BNSP/BCC who were primarily collectors. Profit for them was secondary. As long as they made a little profit, they were willing to part with their duplicates (SC,TC,PNB,BPI,Victory, Overprints, English, Tagalog and ABL). Their intention was to encourage young collectors like us back then to improve and upgrade our collections. Today, I understand there is a cartel controlling the prices.
Even my contemporary in the hobby who is still active has lamented that the hobby is no longer enjoyable it has become too commercialized. |
