somebody asked me if it is worth collecting new coins. of course it is worthwhile, but i advised that if it is the modern issues, try your best to get the newly minted coins or the uncirculated ones. still another asked if the ugly old coins are not worth anything, this is a wrong assumption, remember if the coins are rare or very hard to come by, then it is precious. look out specially for the gold and silver coins which are more than centuries old. spanish silver coins in the country are usually worn out because of actual use and seldom are uncirculated ones, thus there will be willing collectors who will buy it. best advice is to do some research and ask old timers..
