I used to keep big and small silver uspi peso coins only. Collect lang ng collect until I found out about beautiful coins like Fine, Very Fine, Extra Fine, Almost Uncirculated and Uncirculated. I looked at my coins and was dismayed that most of it do not come to par with the best. That made me decide to improve my collection. Now I have sold most of my ugly coins but when I think of it, I should have not been in a hurry. Prices are going up. So when you want to get rid of ugly coins, do it slowly.

Why you sold them instead of swapping to coins you are missing.

I used to own around a hundred coins before, mostly big and small USPI silver one Peso coins. But when I decided to also collect little coins (50c, 20c and 10c), I started selling some of the Peso coins in able to buy the little coins. Right now I still have four 1903S, two 1904S, two 1905S and two 1903(P) big Peso coins, which are in Fine, Very Fine to Extra Fine conditions. The small Peso coins are still around thirty pieces but thirteen pieces are set aside for the ARRAS of my eldest son, and I set aside another set for my youngest. It is getting harder to get beautiful coins nowadays. Also, most coin shops do not accept trades, they want you to sell your coins to them at low prices and buy from them at high prices. From the friendly Mang Totoy of Quiapo, he accepts trades plus small consideration, e.g., I swap One Peso and gives him P100 for the exchange.

Thats whats missing here (or i never found) a place where collectors meet for swapping. Maybe in the future we could organize it here. i Belive there are many collectors outside here who love to swap Coins when there is a chance for it. I own arround 80-100 old Pillar Dollars. If i get something nice for it i will swap them. At the moment i try to collect an complete Collection of the uspi Coins 1903-1945 in UNC or better. And it looks like it get very expensive when i see some coins on ebay

I am still waiting for the coin swap, trade or exchange promised on this site. You are very lucky that you can afford beautiful coins. Most of my coins are locally sourced from stores and auctions, and seldom that you see beautiful coins here and when it comes along you will be horrified at the prices it gets. It is a fact that many people are waiting for the chance to get beautiful coins. Most of the beautiful coins are nowhere, taken abroad or hoarded by the rich collectors.

wow a 1906 for $1,200 only? that is a very good bargain assuming of course that the coin is authentic
