PostSubject: Currency Debasement Coin Site   Tue Feb 22, 2011 3:39 am

I am working on a base metal coin website http://www.currencydebasement.com I have been having a pretty hard time getting information on older coin issues of the Philippines. Does anyone know of any government sources, such as legislative or regulatory? They don't have to be in English. Also, if you have any feedback on the site I would be glad to hear it. Thanks!

Most old Philippine coins were minted outside of the Philippines like Paris, Pobjoy, Franklin, Sheritt, Denver, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Royal Mint so sources of information may not be available in the Philippines. You may check Krause coin catalog for weight and composition of the coin that you are looking. By the way, what period in particular are you interested with.

Just a comment it will take a lot of research and studies and you might have a actual coin it self to weigh it in grams and in troy ounce,we just have to buy a book on Philippine coin and make a new book like Freeman and other reference book with its metal composition and size in diameter there are some entries in wikipedia on its metal content.

On how many silver copper and other metal can be made in 383.24g or one troy ounce,it is broad.

Where are you base?

Precious metal and low metal is somewhat correlated to banknote and inflation.

The smallest unit is the exact representation of the largest currency in circulation or for collectors.
1 sentimo by decimal 0.01/100 1 piso 1/100 100 piso 100/100 10,000 piso.

25 sentimo by decimal 0.25 /100 25 piso 25/100 250piso 250/100 25,000 piso.

Compare to dollar 1 dollar to 40 piso,40/100 1US cent is 0.40 sentimo.
By wages 404 piso per day by 8 hours 50.5 piso per hour.
By wages US 7.50 US dollar per hour by 8 60 dollars, 60*40 2400 piso per day.

2400/404 5.9 to 6 times more the wages in US 404/2400 0.168 or 0.17 for philippine compare to US.it will take 5 or 6 times effort to reach a barometer to live decently.

Compare to dollar 1 dollar to 40 piso,40/100 1US cent is 0.40 sentimo.
2400/404 5.9 to 6 times more the wages in US 404/2400 0.168 or 0.17 for philippine
1/40 For dollar currency and 1/6 in term of wages.
Or US dollar is 40 times more amount than Philippine piso and US will just work 1/6 effort to live in the Philippine,But Filipino have to put 6 times the effort to reach the barometer in minimum wage inside the Philippine.is each deficit of ones country and its national debt decrease the value of its currency,Philippine dont have a debt of several hundred billion dollars and its deficit is not in Trillion dollars,by remittance or 15 to 20 billion dollars the Philippine can pay its national debt.

By shape or size currenct coin in circulation is round or disc like.
Linear measure.just like in cartwheel that 8 cartwheel or its diamete or its single rotaion equivalent to 1 foot???.
