PostSubject: Local Internet Auction   Fri Oct 08, 2010 8:57 am

I just wish we have an on-going Internet Auction supervised by PNAS. I reviewed several Auctions conducted by PNAS and found that most of the prices were reasonable compared to local Internet Sellers. And what is important is the quality indicated is supervised or controlled, very far from Internet posters who all claims their coins are Mint State grades (and you will be disappointed and very depressed when you see their coins). Most sellers over-grade their coins to attract buyers and to get higher prices. in effect swindling naive people. One Modus Operandi - posting beautiful pictures very different from actual conditions. Live auctions in the Internet which are mostly based in the USA are very ideal in their set up although the prices are very exorbitant..This should be considered locally. Thank you.

Hopefully, sana magkaroon nga. Actually, local auctions were mostly the source of coins for most internet sellers. Kung magkakaroon ng PNAS internet auction definitely makakalaban ng PNAS ang maraming dealers.

PostSubject: Internet and Local Auctions   Mon Oct 11, 2010 12:05 pm

Individual internet sellers are mostly discouraging to us collectors. They post good pictures and claim their coins are mint state and most do not even know what that means. I met several sellers and were disappointed with what they presented. And most disturbing is the demand for exorbitant prices based on coins being sold in the World Internet Markets which are Graded Coins. Most of this sellers are either stupid or just plain con artists (manloloko). I attended several local coin auctions and were very satisfied with the honest categories labeled on the coins for sale. A Fine categorized coin is really acceptable, more so with Extremely Fine labeled coins and the About/Almost Uncirculated coins are true to their claims. We collectors should always support local coin auctions. Thanks.

Try to buy more books and so some research before you buy from the internet. There are lot of fakes out there. If you are not a professional buyer or collector, don't buy from the internet. Goodluck
