| A decade ago, when my work was in Baguio, I noticed some curio shops and antique stores selling old silver coins. It reminded me that we used to have a lot of these coins during the sixties but as youngsters do, me and my brother stole most of our keepsakes and used it to buy candies and toys. Also, during the early seventies my father told me to save some to be used for weddings (arras). I never got to use it for my own wedding. But luckily I was able to keep a few pieces and again at Baguio started to buy a piece a month during my five years stay thereat. After my retirement from work, I continued to collect these coins as a hobby. Some advice learned: 1. Do not buy items without actually seeing them. 2. Avoid buying items as a lot, there will be many items you do not want or need. 3. Do not get excited in getting a target coin, make sure it is in good condition and you still want it after time has passed or can be sold when you want to dispose it. 4. Compare prices, usually the internet sellers are too expensive. 5. It is better to seek advice from those who are more experienced in the hobby. Good Morning to everybody. P.S. I am waiting for the next coin auction or sale, kindly post it whenever. Thanks. |

| Hi! Nice of you to share your experience. Just want to add that newbies should be patient in learning the craft of collecting. Besides, learning takes time and tuition fees hehehe... |
