Hi abe,
what is the best way to "preserve" notes and bill in a very humid country (Phils.) like ours? I do have a few early 1900's notes w/c i do want to keep for a long time.
Thanks |

moisture=mold growth
the best way to keep them, is store them with a desiccant(the small silica gel sack that can be found on shoe boxes) and away from damp places(near the aircon, windows etc) you can also buy a conventional silica gel bag that can be recharge by heating it in an oven. Silica gel turns pink when it is holding too much moisture, and it turns blue after "recharging it". my bills and coins safety boxes have their own silica gels in them. |

Wow! nice info Where can we buy one? I like the one that needs re-charging. LOL My notes are in a slip-on album, so the Silica gel should fit (maybe on the edge)? |

| at national bookstore, at their lab section. You can put the sil gel bag besides the album whenever you are keeping it. It will absorb the moisture. |
