PostSubject: Error Coins   Thu Aug 27, 2009 9:40 am

Aside from the 1983 50 centavo coin, where the 'P' got minted as a 'B', and was immediately corrected, is there any other coin that got circulated which had an error? thanks for the info

Also, there are some coins that was circulated with blank planchet obverse/ reverse and considered as error. Also mis align planchets, broken die error and other minting error. If you are into error coins, there's a lot on the first Pilipino Series coins.

There are also lot of errors from coins minted in the year 1945 like the "Double Date", Bar-over-9 varieties, D over S, etc. The 1918 Mule 5 centavos is also another error. The 1928 Mule 20 centavos is another scarce error coin. Finally, off-metal-coins such as the 1937 Manila Mint 20 centavos coin struck in aluminum, the 1939 Two-tailed 1 cent, the two headed Culion 1 peso are some of the exceptional error coins of the Philippines.

nic...its 1983. There are so many error coins around but because nobody update our coinage, most of those errors are yet to be discovered. You'll probably discover some in the future. Very Happy
