By doing so we can contribute to building an expanded knowledge base, and increased interest in Philippine coins, notes, medals, and tokens.

Watch out for the rare ARROVO starnote. This note will soon become a prized collectors item.

Community,

I have seen old Whitman brand albums for Typeset 1868-1958. I've also seen expensive ($45+ international shipping) Philippines-based whole series albums for sale on Ebay (they are blue colored and not of high quality). I have yet to see any other source for albums. Are there any other albums?

Also, has anyone ever tried to make thier own album using Dansco or other companies' blank pages? How was the experience? For example, do you directly match the port size to the coin ...

We had the 2008A notes, a false alarm with the 2009A (I had seen a 2009A in an auction but on inquiry it was a catalogue misprint), but now I have sighted a 100 piso dated 2010A with a "UB" prefix. The 2010 P20 and P1000 that I've seen have the normal date, so it's only the P100 sofar with the "A". ......"Happy Hunting" These 2010 Arroyo notes may not be arround for long, as the Print Shop has to get the notes with the new Presidents' signature ready.

I appreciate if anyone else can share additional information. I'll try to post the images of a 1766 Barilla from my own collection.

Anyone know what is the borderline or release date of nickel plated steel one piso.

Just found a 2003 it stick in the magnet.

It could be fake or BSP struck 2003 coins in NPS in the past or they are restriking now with different year beside 2004 upwards.

Any info?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I need assistance identifying a few specimen notes from my English series collection. All of them have similar overprints as shown below.

I've checked the Pick Catalogue but found limited information from that resource. The signatures are of Macapagal & Castillo. I'm not sure if this is P.135s4 or P.135s5. Can anyone clarify if this is a De La Rue overprint or not?

Thanks,

Hi, anyone have some idea when we can see the new currency issued out? If I'll guess, it will most likely be middle 2010, but that's just a guess. Any inputs from other sources welcome. Thanks!

It is very easy to identify the note compared to its original counterpart. These are inkjet printed and appeared to be scanned images of original notes. Original notes from the same period have F prefixes while these notes have double prefixes mostly starting with Q. Here is a nice example:
